Time to Slaughter Contest Pigs (but not how you might think)

Do professional sports teams disparage their loyal users (season ticket holders) the way radio stations disparage loyal contest players (contest pigs)? Not likely.

Nielsen households are known to respond to incentives. Yet when someone wins repeatedly, they are more likely to be treated with disdain than appreciation by the promotions team.

Imagine the excitement of any Super Fan, stepping foot into your lobby to pick up a prize. How are they greeted by the receptionist? Does it reflect the way you want to treat a potential panelist or diary keeper? If not, why not?

It’s time to put the contest pigs out to pasture and start looking at winners as highly valued members of your audience.

How we view the audience continues to evolve and this is another key facet. Look forward to your thoughts and what you’re seeing at the front desk in the lobby.
